- [Jessica] We're the Bucket List Family. - [Garrett] Garrett, Jessica, Dorothy, Manilla, and Calihan. - [Jessica] A few years ago, we sold everything to travel the world. - [Garrett] And now we're setting out on our biggest adventure of yet.
(The heart is home) - [Jessica] Home. - [Garrett] While we're out gathering inspiration in amazing countries each week, - [Jessica] our at-home experts, Andy and Candice - [Candice] Hi guys! - [Jessica] Will remodel our new home. - [Garrett] Not our house, yet. In real time. - [Jessica] Room by room. - [Garrett] We'll need your help too. - [Jessica] You decide what we experience in each country. We asking you to help us plot our course. Live. - [Garrett] This is your invitation to join us on this journey. ♪The heart is home♪ - [Jessica] In. - [Jessica And Garrett] Traveling Home. (laughter) - [Jessica] I feel like you're off key. - [Garrett] I'm not singing it. (wind rushing in trees) - We're ready for you, world! (laughter) - Good morning from Tonga! (coughs) - I can't breath! (guitar music) - Hey guys! Andy and Candice here, and we are still in Hawaii. - We are getting so close to being done with this house, which makes me feel sad. (laughter) And happy. Happy for Gees, sad for us. - And the clock is definitely winding down on time we have left to get things done. - Yeah, we have two weeks left to get everything done. So we're onto the exterior, and we thought it would be a really good idea if we plan that for when a hurricane is coming. - Yeah, we thought "you know what? There's a high likelihood there'll be a hurricane in the later part of these series. - So let's do that. - We've no idea though. Right? - I don't, I don't know. - We've no idea. - It's an adventure! So come along this adventure with us. You are so sweaty. - So sorry. - It is like, wet. His back is wet. - It is markedly more humid this week than it has been before. - It's because there's a hurricane coming! - There's so cloud cover dropping that heat like a blanket. - All on your back. - On my back. Let's enjoy that. - Maybe we should stand like this now. - Welcome to Hawaii! (laughter) Hurricane land. (guitar music) (sounds) - Good morning from Tonga! (laughter) - Three years ago, we sold everything, we left our home and the first real stop, outside of the country was here in Tonga. - It's kinda been an emotional week. I'm like, so excited -- - Right, any time. - To come home. Home. See? Even that sounds so weird. - Uh-huh. - Like, I've been kinda emotional, but then like, looking and thinking back to our first Tonga video, where Manilla just learned how to walk. And he was just, he was a baby! He was like 11 months old, and we were just babies. Just little travel virgins. (laughter) - Not knowing what we were doing. Not knowing the adventure this would all become. But we were just getting started. - So we're thrilled to be back here where it all began, and it's our last stop until we will be traveling home. (sighs) I'm gonna cry already! - It's starting to rain. Tonga is crying too. - This week was incredible with the Wells. We had wonderful weather, beautiful beautiful water. It was just amazing. Some epic experiences that we will always remember. - But how incredible that, little Cali, six months old, so they told us that Cali is officially the youngest person to ever be on this whereabouts. Then you have Manilla, 3 years old, getting in the water with whales. They're swimming under him, they're breaching all around him. He's not scared! He's giggly and laughing because he's loving it so much. (kid laughter) - [Jessica] And Dorothy loved it. She was giddy and screaming and we were a little bit nervous, you know, whether they're gonna be scared, overwhelmed, or uninterested. But they liked it. - [Garrett] But I feel this was 3 years in the making. And not just like, "okay, someday we're gonna swim with whales, but it's everything we've done for the past 3 years, helping them build their personal confidence, and courage -- - [Jessica] And skills. - And bravery, yeah, and comfort in the water so that when this moment come, they would be prepared. - [Jessica] And they were. And they loved it. And it brought us out the tears and it was amazing. - [Garrett] Probably just the most special moment of my entire life, his entire life. (guitar music) - This week has been very special. Not only with the whales and sharing something that we love so much with our kids, but just having everything come full circle with our children, and how much we've grown and learned in the last three years. - This house isn't just going to be our home for us, it's gonna be three years of hard work, three years of adventures and memories all coming together in this very special place. And that's why we're so grateful that we've been able to work with you, just the same way that we took a gamble on life, left home and went for this adventure around the world. We feel grateful that you took a gamble on us, accepted this project to work on a house together with us and we didn't know how big this adventure would become, the same way you didn't know how this house would turn out. We can only imagine-- - I can't imagine... - The different obstacles you had. - yeah -- - Right? - The problems, and I think there have been so many people who have worked on this in Hawaii, you know, back on the mainland, like, so many pieces coming together at once, like, I don't know how you're doing it. - So I think the main question that we needed to answer this week was what color do we want for the exterior of our home. - [Jessica] So the water when you're out on the boat is deep blue, but along these beautiful, beautiful islands are these big cliffs, with beautiful green on them. And that has been our inspiration for the color that we're choosing. We're choosing a beautiful green to go on our house. - [Garrett] So I think the best way to explain it would just be a nature green, a friendly green, a warm green, and an inviting green, right? - A good green, Candice and Andy! - Good luck with that description! (laughter) - No, but I think, I think also we still want to have kinda like that beach bungalow, vintage-y like color, right? - Yeah, uh-huh. Well, and that's why I like the color green. Because some of the like, the old and they're classic, plantation type houses around Hawaii are that color of green -- - Yeah, yeah. - And we love it. - Totally. (music) - I just feel all the feels this week. I feel emotional for their cute little family that they haven't had a home base this whole time and I feel really honored that we got to play a part in this home base. - Yeah. - [Candice] When we first started on the house, it was like a brown. Just very, I don't, how, this brown. - [Andy] Chocolate-y brown. - [Candice] Choco, yeah, milk chocolate-y brown? - Yeah. - I don't want to go too descriptive. - Not dark chocolate-y. Milk chocolate-y. - Maybe dark chocolate. Maybe 60% cacao. (laughs) And it had like a green-ish trim. - Yeah. - So we definitely didn't want that same color green That was on the trim. Cause it was too light for Garrett and Jess. They said we need something way darker. - To go with the green paint, we decided on an off-white trim. Like it's very nearly white but not quite. I think it's gonna look great. - It's actually called "creamy." - Creamy, yeah. - It's creamy. That is actually a tip that I tell people. When you want something that looks a little more rich and full of color, to use a cream instead of a bright white. It really makes it feel just a bit different. And to the eye, you can't tell that it's not white white. - Yeah Just feels a little more lived in. So this week, the vote is so adorable. Dorothy had this idea, I kinda give them, you know, on the phone I'll give them little, like, and I don't want to say sneak-peaks or anything, but I'll say like -- - Hints. - Yeah, little hints. Like this week we did a chalkboard, we did a mural in the garage or whatever, and Dorothy was so excited! She's like, "I wanna do my own chalkboard thing!" So they had this idea to chalk the dock and they want to know if they should draw prayer flags, which was Dorothy's idea, - Uh-huh. - Or if they should do the Bucket List Family logo. So we're gonna find out, right now, what you guys have chosen. - What you guys have decided. - Your phone. - The winner is: the flags!! - Oh nice! That's way cool. - That's so cute! That was Dorothy's idea. - Yeah she was excited about that one. - She's ... why is she so cute? (laughs) Like seriously.
