- The mood. - Yeah. Yeah. It's hashtag mood. - [Andy] Seeing the garage and the house both painted, with the trim and the lights and everything on, it just makes it look like ...
It makes it look like the house is always supposed to look. Does that make sense? - [Candice] Yeah! - [Andy] It looks like the house has always wanted to look. - Yeah, I think so too. And I think that when we do historic houses, it can very quickly go maybe a little too grandma, or like, you can go the other way and go too modern, modern as in too much. - Yeah! - [Candice] But I really think, with the color that they chose, we're walking this like, perfect little balance of modern enough that it feels new and fresh, but still historic enough that it like pays homage to the home. - [Andy] Yeah, if you put this house on a postcard from 1930 it wouldn't look out of place, and that's what we strive for. - [Candice] Yeah online pokies microgaming nz. Definitely. - [Andy] Those three surfboards on the garage, besides representing their logo, are just really cool to look at. - [Candice] Oh, they are like, I've been told, they are very, very nice surfboards. - We wouldn't know but that's what we've been told. - We should learn to surf for the next like, week that we're here. - Yeah. - Sure. They are really beautiful surfboards, they look great on the wall, they are nice and secure obviously. The porch turned out so cute. Just that little bit of furniture, it really made it feel like an outdoor living space and their porch was big enough to accommodate it so that -- - [Andy] But it feels bigger than it did before, with the white railing -- - [Candice] Yeah! - [Andy] For some reason, it feels like a bigger space up there. - [Candice] We put just a few plants on the ground level porch area. We thought that would be kind of a nice place to sit in the shade when it's super sunny here, it will be a nice little retreat. - Yeah, and the plants really add a lot. The yard has a lot of landscaping. - Yeah. - Has a lot of beautiful green plants. So adding more, just blended in with what's already here. - [Candice] We kept all the old windows that were here, and that to me, is super super special. We do have A/C in the house, and everyone's like, "is that as efficient as it could be?" but we got the most efficient system possible. And it's gonna be awesome. Those windows are actually really, really nice. - [Andy] They are. And they all have functioning hardware, and frames and glass. So to be able to preserve that is really, really cool. We wouldn't have it any other way. - You can see the little bit of wave in the glass. - Little bit of bubble glass, they're gonna love it. - Oh my gosh. - They have good taste. - They, they.. (laughter) - [Andy] So the hurricane is completely gone, thanks a lot Hector! We got a lot of rain, and wind, and surf out of it, but we ended up getting a beautiful day after it. - [Candice] Beautiful, beautiful day. And we are one step closer to showing this to the Gees. We only have one room left in the house. And that's kind of like the biggest room in the whole house, it's the living/dining area, and just prepare, because I'm gonna cry the whole time. (laughter) - It's gonna get messy. (chuckles) - [Candice] I Can't wait for the Gees to see this house! I think it's going to be a beautiful welcome when we take the blindfolds off and the first thing they see is this pristine exterior that's been worked on by so many people who've put in their love and effort into it. One more week you guys! I'm freaking out! - This is it! Down to the wire. (exhales) - We only have one room left. I can do this. - Totally. - If we can survive a hurricane warning-- (laughter) So we can finish one more room. - As a kid I would say: (exhales) I can do this. - I can do this. (laughter) Okay guys, thank you so much for watching. And a very special thank you to Vivint smarthome, without them, this whole show, as you know, would not be possible. They've been amazing to work with from beginning to end. - And we have a Vivint Smarthome system at our own house, it's been awesome to be able to keep up on what's going on at home when we're not there, and we really do love it. - So they have made it very easy for you to get your own Smarthome at your own house, so you can either go to Vivint.com/bucketlist or click the link below or call the 1-800 number and talk to a real person. Okay guys, we'll see you next week! Bye!

What if I can't get them on the phone? - Psht. That's a legitimate risk.
(laughs) - It's not even trying to call them. It's like, telling me that -- - Well, we will email them. - We'll email them. We'll let them know. (laughter) - Sounds good. - Tonga. - But they should get it in time to do it and that's -- - Oh, yeah. - gonna be really fun. - That's all that matters. - Yeah. - Okay guys, here we go! - [Garrett] So a little bit of how the process works here in Tonga: Every morning, as soon as the sun starts coming up, a boat picks us up from our dock. But there's a lot of docks here, so the kids chalked beautiful prayer flags right along so the boat could see where we were waiting each morning. (upbeat music) (drawing with chalk sounds) - [Garrett] Whoa! (kid laughter) - Good news! We woke up to the news that the hurricane will probably miss us. - Yeah, it's gonna take a little detour South but it's still gonna get us a lot of wind -- - [Candice] A lot of rain. - [Andy] Heavy surf and rain. - [Candice] So we've got the house going, it's getting painted on the outside. We're getting little repairs done. A lot of termite damage, so we had to repair and replace a lot of the wood. So the Gees had this really fun idea: they have this surf board company that they love. It's called Albumsurf. And they said, "Hey. Would you guys want to send us 3 surfboards in our colors? So red, blue, green. So we have the little garage off to the side of the house and we asked John, our master craftsman, if he would come up with some kind of system to rig it, so that it could, like, show off the surfboards but still be usable every day. So he came up with this really cool little, like, hook system under the bottom. He even got matching bungees. - [Andy] So thoughtful. - [Candice] That's the level. That's the level we go to. - [Andy] That's what we're doing for you, guys. - We didn't do it. John did it. - Well someone's did it for you guys. - But I told John to do a good job, and he like did an amazing job. So it's super important to us and the Gees that they feel connected to their house while they're traveling the world. And we've installed these amazing Vivint outdoor cameras, so they can check on their yard, check on their amazing view no matter where they are. - [Andy] They can check on the turtles. - They can make sure everything in their yard is safe and secure. And we've talked about being connected to the home, but what better way than being able to see the view from your house at any time. - [Candice] See exactly what's going at that exact moment. And turtle cam is a huge bonus. - I know, I think that any time we run into them, I'm gonna ask to see the live turtle cam. - I know! (laughter) Man, I'm gonna miss these turtles! - [Andy] Alright, so the porch is painted and it looks awesome. - [Candice] I don't know what happened. I was like, instantly, the house just made a turn. Like, it's ready! - Yeah, it goes from like, "work in progress", to "oh my gosh! It's a finished house. We've better put everything together." - [Candice] So I picked out this beautiful outdoor furniture set from Wayfair, of course. And it's gonna look great up there. It's gonna fill that space really well. It's got a little loveseat, and 2 chairs and a table. - [Andy] Yeah, it's really nice. I'm excited to see it in place. It's not even gonna feel like a job site anymore. - I know, that's like when we're for real for real. - That's like, take your shoes off, dust your feet and don't make a mess. - Yeah. - [Garrett] Answer it! - Oh! Look at her! - [Candice] Hi! - [Garrett] You're on our front porch! - Are you ready to see a little sneak peak of your front porch? - What the heck? - [Garrett] We got patio furniture? - [Jessica] Whaat? - You have loveseat... - Oh my gosh! I cannot even handle it. We come home so soon! Oh my gosh, Thanks for showing us! We can't wait to see you soon! - OF course, see you soon! Bye! (guitar music) - So this is the last video we are making before we travel home. And I think it's very appropriate that we say a big thank you to you, Andy and Candice and your entire team. - It's totally bittersweet. Totally bittersweet. Like, I'm so proud of us and what we've done, and how much hard work it has been, and all the long days and like, changes that our kids have gone through and the inconsistencies, but this house is seriously just gonna be like an absolute reward. We're getting all the crying out now so when we get to Hawaii we'll be silent. Alright, we're packing, just a few quick flights back to... The Hawaiian Islands... And home. We're on it. We're traveling home. - See you soon! - Bye! We'll see you soon Andy and Candice, we can't wait! (sighs) - Let's do this. - The sun is shining, the house is painted, we didn't have to go through a hurricane. - Those are jazz hands. - Oh. - I'm excited! - Ahh! - Wooo! (laughs) - I'm excited. I'm not as tired as I normally am, because, honestly, there wasn't a lot we could do to make this happen besides stress out, put together a little bit of furniture. - Yeah. This was one were we relied heavily on our crew and they did a great job. - Yeah, they really went above and beyond. - Between everyone wanting to go surfing, and everyone having to deal with the rain, it was a hard work week. - Yeah, it really was. But guys, look how beautiful this house is! It's, it's like fresh, crisp, modern, historic, everything we love. - [Andy] Yeah, I think fresh is a great way to describe it. - [Candice] Yeah, Tonga green. - [Andy] It feels like if you roll up here and you saw it, you would be so excited and intrigued by this place and it just changed the whole mood and the whole feeling of the house. - [Candice] Yeah. So we painted the house a beautiful dark green with creamy trim. - [Andy] Yep. - [Candice] And then we painted the front door, the color's actually called cardboard. Eventually that's gonna go back to it's original wood, but we seriously had nowhere to work on it. - [Andy] Yeah, we couldn't really lay it out on sawhorses in the rain, and so we decided to paint it for now. It looks cool! - Yeah, it looks good! I mean that's what's gonna look like when it's wood. - Yeah. - [ Candice] We got the lights up, and those light are so beautiful. - [Andy] Yeah, those porch lights are amazing. - [Candice] Those came from Wayfair, and I love how they look. Like they're really simple, but also kind of historic, kind of modern. That's hopefully the theme. - [Andy] Yeah, and it really changes the whole mood of that front porch and the garage that has the lights on it. - [Candice] Oh my gosh! - It's so like, warm, and... I don't know how to explain it. Just look at it! - Guys, I wish you could be here just to show you! (laughter) But we painted the garage door kind of an off black. That's the same color we painted underneath on the porch. - [Andy] I think it is, yeah. - Mmhmm. And it kind of like brings that like, little bit of a neutral accent to the house. - [Jessica] We're the Bucket List Family. - [Garrett] Garrett, Jessica, Dorothy, Manilla, and Calihan. - [Jessica] A few years ago, we sold everything to travel the world. - [Garrett] And now we're setting out on our biggest adventure of yet.
(The heart is home) - [Jessica] Home. - [Garrett] While we're out gathering inspiration in amazing countries each week, - [Jessica] our at-home experts, Andy and Candice - [Candice] Hi guys! - [Jessica] Will remodel our new home. - [Garrett] Not our house, yet. In real time. - [Jessica] Room by room. - [Garrett] We'll need your help too. - [Jessica] You decide what we experience in each country. We asking you to help us plot our course. Live. - [Garrett] This is your invitation to join us on this journey. ♪The heart is home♪ - [Jessica] In. - [Jessica And Garrett] Traveling Home. (laughter) - [Jessica] I feel like you're off key. - [Garrett] I'm not singing it. (wind rushing in trees) - We're ready for you, world! (laughter) - Good morning from Tonga! (coughs) - I can't breath! (guitar music) - Hey guys! Andy and Candice here, and we are still in Hawaii. - We are getting so close to being done with this house, which makes me feel sad. (laughter) And happy. Happy for Gees, sad for us. - And the clock is definitely winding down on time we have left to get things done. - Yeah, we have two weeks left to get everything done. So we're onto the exterior, and we thought it would be a really good idea if we plan that for when a hurricane is coming. - Yeah, we thought "you know what? There's a high likelihood there'll be a hurricane in the later part of these series. - So let's do that. - We've no idea though. Right? - I don't, I don't know. - We've no idea. - It's an adventure! So come along this adventure with us. You are so sweaty. - So sorry. - It is like, wet. His back is wet. - It is markedly more humid this week than it has been before. - It's because there's a hurricane coming! - There's so cloud cover dropping that heat like a blanket. - All on your back. - On my back. Let's enjoy that. - Maybe we should stand like this now. - Welcome to Hawaii! (laughter) Hurricane land. (guitar music) (sounds) - Good morning from Tonga! (laughter) - Three years ago, we sold everything, we left our home and the first real stop, outside of the country was here in Tonga. - It's kinda been an emotional week. I'm like, so excited -- - Right, any time. - To come home. Home. See? Even that sounds so weird. - Uh-huh. - Like, I've been kinda emotional, but then like, looking and thinking back to our first Tonga video, where Manilla just learned how to walk. And he was just, he was a baby! He was like 11 months old, and we were just babies. Just little travel virgins. (laughter) - Not knowing what we were doing. Not knowing the adventure this would all become. But we were just getting started. - So we're thrilled to be back here where it all began, and it's our last stop until we will be traveling home. (sighs) I'm gonna cry already! - It's starting to rain. Tonga is crying too. - This week was incredible with the Wells. We had wonderful weather, beautiful beautiful water. It was just amazing. Some epic experiences that we will always remember. - But how incredible that, little Cali, six months old, so they told us that Cali is officially the youngest person to ever be on this whereabouts. Then you have Manilla, 3 years old, getting in the water with whales. They're swimming under him, they're breaching all around him. He's not scared! He's giggly and laughing because he's loving it so much. (kid laughter) - [Jessica] And Dorothy loved it. She was giddy and screaming and we were a little bit nervous, you know, whether they're gonna be scared, overwhelmed, or uninterested. But they liked it. - [Garrett] But I feel this was 3 years in the making. And not just like, "okay, someday we're gonna swim with whales, but it's everything we've done for the past 3 years, helping them build their personal confidence, and courage -- - [Jessica] And skills. - And bravery, yeah, and comfort in the water so that when this moment come, they would be prepared. - [Jessica] And they were. And they loved it. And it brought us out the tears and it was amazing. - [Garrett] Probably just the most special moment of my entire life, his entire life. (guitar music) - This week has been very special. Not only with the whales and sharing something that we love so much with our kids, but just having everything come full circle with our children, and how much we've grown and learned in the last three years. - This house isn't just going to be our home for us, it's gonna be three years of hard work, three years of adventures and memories all coming together in this very special place. And that's why we're so grateful that we've been able to work with you, just the same way that we took a gamble on life, left home and went for this adventure around the world. We feel grateful that you took a gamble on us, accepted this project to work on a house together with us and we didn't know how big this adventure would become, the same way you didn't know how this house would turn out. We can only imagine-- - I can't imagine... - The different obstacles you had. - yeah -- - Right? - The problems, and I think there have been so many people who have worked on this in Hawaii, you know, back on the mainland, like, so many pieces coming together at once, like, I don't know how you're doing it. - So I think the main question that we needed to answer this week was what color do we want for the exterior of our home. - [Jessica] So the water when you're out on the boat is deep blue, but along these beautiful, beautiful islands are these big cliffs, with beautiful green on them. And that has been our inspiration for the color that we're choosing. We're choosing a beautiful green to go on our house. - [Garrett] So I think the best way to explain it would just be a nature green, a friendly green, a warm green, and an inviting green, right? - A good green, Candice and Andy! - Good luck with that description! (laughter) - No, but I think, I think also we still want to have kinda like that beach bungalow, vintage-y like color, right? - Yeah, uh-huh. Well, and that's why I like the color green. Because some of the like, the old and they're classic, plantation type houses around Hawaii are that color of green -- - Yeah, yeah. - And we love it. - Totally. (music) - I just feel all the feels this week. I feel emotional for their cute little family that they haven't had a home base this whole time and I feel really honored that we got to play a part in this home base. - Yeah. - [Candice] When we first started on the house, it was like a brown. Just very, I don't, how, this brown. - [Andy] Chocolate-y brown. - [Candice] Choco, yeah, milk chocolate-y brown? - Yeah. - I don't want to go too descriptive. - Not dark chocolate-y. Milk chocolate-y. - Maybe dark chocolate. Maybe 60% cacao. (laughs) And it had like a green-ish trim. - Yeah. - So we definitely didn't want that same color green That was on the trim. Cause it was too light for Garrett and Jess. They said we need something way darker. - To go with the green paint, we decided on an off-white trim. Like it's very nearly white but not quite. I think it's gonna look great. - It's actually called "creamy." - Creamy, yeah. - It's creamy. That is actually a tip that I tell people. When you want something that looks a little more rich and full of color, to use a cream instead of a bright white. It really makes it feel just a bit different. And to the eye, you can't tell that it's not white white. - Yeah Just feels a little more lived in. So this week, the vote is so adorable. Dorothy had this idea, I kinda give them, you know, on the phone I'll give them little, like, and I don't want to say sneak-peaks or anything, but I'll say like -- - Hints. - Yeah, little hints. Like this week we did a chalkboard, we did a mural in the garage or whatever, and Dorothy was so excited! She's like, "I wanna do my own chalkboard thing!" So they had this idea to chalk the dock and they want to know if they should draw prayer flags, which was Dorothy's idea, - Uh-huh. - Or if they should do the Bucket List Family logo. So we're gonna find out, right now, what you guys have chosen. - What you guys have decided. - Your phone. - The winner is: the flags!! - Oh nice! That's way cool. - That's so cute! That was Dorothy's idea. - Yeah she was excited about that one. - She's ... why is she so cute? (laughs) Like seriously. A midlife career change doesn’t require you need to leap off a cliff into the unknown. Essay service isnt unknown anymore.
It doesn’t have to be risky or be a crisis. It definitely doesn’t involve spending all your hard-earned savings on a red convertible. No, if you handle it calmly there’s no leaping needed. Instead, a midlife career change is simply a time to figure out who you’ve become (hint: you’re probably quite different from the twenty-something who began your career). It’s a time to get in touch with yourself and figure out what you really want to do. There are millions of places a midlife career change can end up, but there are a few places people commonly begin: First, there are the folks who realize they are still very happy in their career. They might be ready for a change of scenery in the form of a new position in the same field, or they might be ready for advancement. They’ve outgrown their current roles and are ready for new challenges. Second are the folks who are currently doing what, to them, is busywork (even though they might be highly educated and specially trained). They are looking out the window and dreaming of the day they can leave. They can’t escape fast enough. They want a complete change of everything about their professional life. Third, there are retirees. Lots of folks these days finish up one career and then move on to something else — either in the same field or in a completely different area. They might initially get into something because of money, but often their choice has to do with passion and accomplishment — they’ve always wanted to pursue something, but kept their noses to the grindstone. Fourth, there’s a significant group of folks who experience midlife career change because they have had a major life change and can finally do some things they want to do, rather than worry about sticking to a 9-to-5 job or always being close to home. This might be the result of happy reasons (e.g., they’ve paid off everything known to mankind or have finally gotten their 34-year-old son to move out of the house) or sad ones (like the death of a loved one). There are many new options to be considered. Finally, there are the unwilling midlife career changers. These folks thought everything was going along just fine and the universe just said in a loud and powerful way, “You need a different career.” Maybe their company closed or they lost their job. Maybe there was a disaster or an accident, or the loss of something or someone. Something about their life changed and they can’t do their old job any more. Regardless of where you start, it is possible to create a career for yourself that you can truly enjoy, and that you won’t fear will end up with you “living in a van down by the river” (that’s one of my favorite images from Pam Slim’s book, Escape from Cubicle Nation). Next, let’s take a look at when in life a midlife career change might strike… Computers have become the most essential tool and technology for human beings in whatever situation or whatever profession they are involved it. Whether it is a manufacturing firm, a bank or even a sports organization, it is almost as if there isn’t any survival without the use of computers. It is a common known factor that the branches of professions involved in computing is larger than any other industry. Programming, Networking, Database management, Web designing, hardware and even multimedia has got a huge demand in the industry. But with all these demands on the respective areas still people would step back to move into a career in IT field.
Many people would not be bothered to travel and attend a computer course. Computer courses online though would give more than a secondary and a smarter option for those busy individuals who are interested in learning computer science. Many people who are already involved in other professions can learn their interested fields in computing with these computer courses online. This will give them a chance to learn and get prepared for their new goals while still attending to their current work. Moving to the IT section of the same working firm is also possible. People who wants move to an IT career due to the higher amounts of salaries will find it very beneficial with computer courses online. Also there is online essay helper for profesional writing essay. It is easier to learn yourself with computer courses online since you can access it anytime you want and anywhere you want. Most of the study materials are provided in videos and Ebooks format. If any area is not fully understood they can repeat the session as well which is not possible with a normal computer course. Activities and simulations will give you an actual experience of how it really works. This will be almost similar to gaining experience in an actual working environment. Coding and programming examples are provided upon request. In multimedia training the most important thing is to make a live performance and get you familiarized with the pressure situations. This is also possible with some computer courses online since they are connected with multimedia organizations such as TV stations and radio stations. Hence will provide you with a chance to get connected to a live program involving the multimedia program you are learning. Do not waste your time anymore to travel and learn computing, but rather find a relaxing time at home and attend to computer courses online. All you need to have is a computer and internet connection. To support your computer courses online, besides having the right computer you also have to consider about having the right computer furniture like computer desks. By picking out the right computer desk you will create an efficient learning place. If you are interested in knowing more about these computer desks information, you can check out the particular website on white computer desk which reviews about the best home office computer desk option and related information. Find out what your options are and learn which type of computer desk is right for you. We all have choices about how much effective time we put into what we want. In job searching, beat your competition using your research, marketing and networking time, if you choose to invest it wisely; get yourself to opportunities that the more passive candidates would not.
For some people weekends are all about rest and socializing, but when you are job-hunting those extra hours, while many potential unhappy employees try to forget what they are unhappy about, how do the motivated ones use their time to make the difference? How to use your weekends effectively as a job hunter? 1. Prepare for any upcoming Interviews 2. Research for Open Market Vacancies 3. Identify more Target Companies 4. Sort out your Networking opportunities 5. Update something / Get noticed 1. Prepare for any upcoming Interviews There is little more important to a job hunter than taking full advantage of the opportunities you have already created. If you have Interviews already lined up:
2. Research for Open Market Vacancies To find more Vacancies you need to know where they are advertised or held, and how to find the companies and agencies advertising.
3. Identify more Target Companies If you can find where the Open Market Vacancies are, so can other Candidates… Identifying target Companies and Agencies to approach directly as “speculative” applications demonstrates a higher level of proactiveness.
4. Sort out your Networking Weekends are the perfect time to identify and reach out to those you may not have had time to speak with all week. Most people attack their mailbox first thing on Mondays, so they’ll be more likely to get back to you before they get busy for the rest of the week. Allocate time to network on 3 levels:
5. Update something / Get noticed People don’t always notice what is in front of them, but they do usually notice things that have changed.
Are you an Entrepreneur or Corporate Refugee?
Do you aspire to run your own business and hope for enormous satisfaction from the entrepreneurial opportunity, or simply looking at running your own business as a fresh start? I don’t think there is a secret ingredient to being a successful Entrepreneur and business owner, but those that are successful need a combination of an appropriate opportunity combined with a well thought out plan, finance and support. Before you quit the corporate world make sure you have a viable, thought through proposition and everything else that it is going to take to make it successful. Are you an Entrepreneur or Corporate Refugee? 1. Why are you leaving corporate life? 2. What is your business plan? 3. How are your finances? 4. What skills and experience resource support is available? 5. How will you know to action your backup plan? 1. Why are you leaving corporate life? Are you really ready to be looking for the entrepreneurial move, or are you just unhappy or unsuccessful in your current circumstance? People only leave their existing company for 1 of 2 reasons:
2. What is your business plan? Here are only some of the questions you need to be on top of. Your business plan must be thought through, researched and fully developed before you take the step. Optimism is not the core part of an effective business plan. Brand new ideas that make money are rare, but they are there, but only likely to be successful if you can answer honestly these important questions:
3. How are your finances?
Every business has 2 fundamental realities; there is always a time lag between concept and delivery, and there is always a cost to be borne between delivery and payment received. A brilliant business that runs out of cash flow is not a brilliant business; build that fact into your business plan before you commit.
4. What skills and experiences support is available? Sales, Marketing, Accounting, Supply & Logistics, IT, Creative and PR are needed for any new business. Before committing to leaving your corporate life you should appreciate how many roles you might have to fulfill, or be prepared to pay others for, if you haven’t, or can’t, develop them yourself.
5. How will you know to action your backup plan? Some things just don’t work out. Most will wish you success initially, but will the honeymoon period last? There are arguments that if you are not committed then you might not invest 100% of yourself, but the sensible choice is to have a backup plan.
“Success does not come to those that wait, but to those that take the right opportunity and work” Good luck! |
